IBAMIN D3

This brand name is authorized in Turkey.

Active ingredients

The drug IBAMIN D3 contains a combination of these active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs):

1
UNII J12U072QL0 - IBANDRONATE SODIUM

Ibandronic acid belongs to the bisphosphonate group of compounds which act specifically on bone. Their selective action on bone tissue is based on the high affinity of bisphosphonates for bone mineral. Bisphosphonates act by inhibiting osteoclast activity, although the precise mechanism is still not clear. In vivo, ibandronic acid prevents experimentally-induced bone destruction caused by cessation of gonadal function, retinoids, tumours or tumour extracts.

2
UNII 1C6V77QF41 - CHOLECALCIFEROL

In its biologically active form vitamin D3 stimulates intestinal calcium absorption, incorporation of calcium into the osteoid, and release of calcium from bone tissue. In the small intestine it promotes rapid and delayed calcium uptake. The passive and active transport of phosphate is also stimulated.
