Regimen A: In case that patient age in months is ≥ 8 and patient age in months is ≤ 12 and patient weight is ≥ 7.5 kg and patient weight is ≤ 10 kg, rectal, 75 milligrams ibuprofen, 1 to 3 times daily. The maximum allowed total dose is 225 milligrams ibuprofen daily.
Regimen B: In case that patient age in years is ≥ 1 and patient age in years is ≤ 3 and patient weight is ≥ 10 kg and patient weight is ≤ 15 kg, oral, 75 milligrams ibuprofen, 1 to 4 times daily. The maximum allowed total dose is 300 milligrams ibuprofen daily.
Regimen C: In case that patient age in years is ≥ 3 and patient age in years is ≤ 6 and patient weight is ≥ 15 kg and patient weight is ≤ 20 kg, rectal, 150 milligrams ibuprofen, 1 to 3 times daily. The maximum allowed total dose is 450 milligrams ibuprofen daily.
Regimen D: In case that patient age in years is ≥ 6 and patient age in years is ≤ 9 and patient weight is ≥ 20 kg and patient weight is ≤ 29 kg, rectal, 150 milligrams ibuprofen, 1 to 4 times daily. The maximum allowed total dose is 600 milligrams ibuprofen daily.
The dosage of for children and young persons depends on the patient’s age and body weight. In general, the single dose is 7 to 10 milligrams per kilogram body weight and the maximum daily dose 30 milligrams per kilogram body weight.
The dosage interval depends on the symptoms and the maximum daily dose and should be at least six hours.
If ibuprofen suppository is required for three days or if symptoms worsen, a doctor should be consulted.
