Alutril Forte acts by neutralising hydrochloric acid in the gastric secretion. The proven neutralising power of magnesium trisilicate and of hydrated aluminium oxide combine to give Alutril Forte dependable antacid action without the acid rebound sometimes associated with calcium carbonate. The pleasant peppermint-flavoured taste of Alutril Forte tablets encourages patient acceptance of, and compliance with, recommended antacid regimens.
Alutril Forte tablets are easy to chew and dissolve readily, providing prompt and reliable relief of symptoms.
The active ingredients of Alutril Forte tablets exert their action within the gastro-intestinal tract. No pharmacokinetic data are therefore provided.
There are no pre-clinical data of relevance to the prescriber which are additional to that already included in other sections of the SPC.
