Losarb Plus is a combination of an angiotensin II receptor antagonist (losartan) and a diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide).
Losarb Plus is indicated for the treatment of essential hypertension (high blood pressure).
Always take Losarb Plus exactly as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Your doctor will decide on the appropriate dose of Losarb Plus depending on your condition and whether you are taking other medicines. It is important to continue taking Losarb Plus for as long as your doctor prescribes it in order to maintain smooth control of your blood pressure.
The tablet should be swallowed with a glass of water. The tablets can be taken with or without food.
The usual dose of Losarb Plus for most patients with high blood pressure is 1 tablet of Losarb Plus 50 mg/12.5 mg per day to control blood pressure over the 24-hour period. This can be increased to 2 tablets once daily of Losartan/Hydrochlorothiazide 50 mg/12.5 mg film-coated tablets or changed to 1 tablet daily of Losartan/Hydrochlorothiazide 100 mg/25 mg film-coated tablets (a stronger strength) per day. The maximum daily dose is 2 tablets per day of Losartan/Hydrochlorothiazide 50 mg/12.5 mg film-coated tablets or 1 tablet daily of Losartan / Hydrochlorothiazide 100 mg/25 mg film-coated tablets.
There is no experience in children and adolescents. Therefore, Losarb Plus should not be given to children and adolescents.
In case of an overdose, contact your doctor immediately so that medical attention may be given promptly. Overdosage can cause a drop in blood pressure, palpitations, slow pulse, changes in blood composition, and dehydration
Keep this medicine out of the reach and sight of children.
Do not store above 30°C.
Do not use Losarb Plus after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not use Losarb Plus if you notice visible changes in the appearance of the medicinal product.
50 mg/12.5 mg: White, oblong, biconvex film-coated tablets measuring approximately 13.7 × 6.7 mm with a scoreline on both sides.
The scoreline is to facilitate breaking for ease of shallowing and not to divide into equal doses.
100 mg/25 mg: White, oblong, biconvex film-coated tablets measuring approximately 15.3 × 6.7 mm with a scoreline on both sides.
The tablet can be divided into equal halves.
Tablets are provided in PVC/PE/PVDC/Aluminium blisters.
Pack sizes: 30 film-coated tablets.
Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures will help to protect the environment.
