Therapeutic indications

Cladribine is indicated for:

Hairy cell leukemia

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Cladribine is indicated for the treatment of hairy cell leukaemia.

0.14 mg/kg body weight once a day for 5 days

0.09 mg/kg/day continuous intravenous infusion for 7 consecutive days

Relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS)

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Cladribine is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with highly active relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS) as defined by clinical or imaging features

For this indication, competent medicine agencies globally authorize below treatments (click for details):

10-20 mg once daily for 5 days every month

Contraindications

Cladribine is contraindicated in the following cases:

Myelosuppressive medicinal products

Immunosuppressants

Pregnancy

Lactation

Moderate to severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance ≤50 ml/min)

at least one of

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)

Moderate to severe hepatic impairment (Child-Pugh score ≥6)
