Diethylamine salicylate is a topical analgesic, with the anti-inflammatory properties of salicylates.
The main advantage of diethylamine salicylate is that it has great penetrating capacity. So after applying it to the skin, diethylamine salicylate is absorbed, penetrates the tissues, enters the bloodstream and transports to the entire body.
The more general actions of salicylic diethylamine are now known. It is believed to exert cortisone-like action, stimulating the pituitary-adrenal axis, exerting an analgesic and anti-inflammatory effect.
After topical application small amounts of salicylic acid are detectable in the plasma. Elimination in the urine occurs over a period of 48 hours.
There are no additional preclinical safety data.
