Therapeutic indications

Von Willebrand factor is indicated for:

Haemorrhage in von Willebrand disease

Population group: only adults (18 - 65 years old)

Von Willebrand factor is indicated in the treatment of haemorrhages or surgical bleeding in von Willebrand disease when desmopressin (DDAVP) treatment alone is ineffective or contraindicated.

For this indication, competent medicine agencies globally authorize below treatments (click for details):

40-80 IU/kg as first dose and thereafter 40-80 IU/kg per day in 1 or 2 injections daily over one to several days

Haemorrhages in von Willebrand disease

Population group: only adults (18 - 65 years old)

Von Willebrand factor is indicated in the prevention of haemorrhages or surgical bleeding in von Willebrand disease when desmopressin (DDAVP) treatment alone is ineffective or contraindicated.

40-60 IU/kg, administered 2-3 times per week
