Therapeutic indications

Galantamine is indicated for:

Mild to moderately severe dementia of the Alzheimer type

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Symptomatic treatment of mild to moderately severe dementia of the Alzheimer type.

8 mg once daily for 4 weeks and thereafter 16-24 mg once daily

Contraindications

Galantamine is contraindicated in the following cases:

Severe hepatic impairment

Hepatic failure stage IV

Severe renal impairment

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)
