Meropenem and Vaborbactam is indicated for:

Complicated urinary tract infection

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Complicated urinary tract infection (cUTI), including pyelonephritis.

Complicated intra-abdominal infection

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Infectious disease of abdomen and additionally at least one of
Meropenem susceptible species
Meropenem susceptible species for which acquired resistance may be a problem

Hospital-acquired pneumonia

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), including VAP.

Treatment of patients with bacteraemia that occurs in association with, or is suspected to be associated with, any of the infections listed below:

  • Complicated urinary tract infection (cUTI), including pyelonephritis
  • Complicated intra-abdominal infection (cIAI)
  • Hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP), including ventilator associated pneumonia (VAP).

Infections due to aerobic Gram-negative organisms

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Meropenem/vaborbactam combination is indicated for the treatment of infections due to aerobic Gram-negative organisms in adults with limited treatment options.

Contraindications

Meropenem and Vaborbactam is contraindicated in the following cases:

Lactation

Lactation

Contraceptives containing oestrogen and/or progesterone

at least one of
Drospirenone
17 alpha-Ethinylestradiol
Norethisterone
Progesterone
