Therapeutic indications

Mitapivat is indicated for:

Pyruvate kinase deficiency (PK deficiency)

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Deficiency of phosphoenolpyruvate kinase

For this indication, competent medicine agencies globally authorize below treatments (click for details):

5 mg twice daily at weeks 0-4, 20 mg twice daily at weeks 5-8 and 50 mg twice daily at weeks 9-12

Contraindications

Mitapivat is contraindicated in the following cases:

Pregnancy

Hepatic impairment

Hepatic insufficiency

Severe renal impairment

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)
