Neomycin

Therapeutic indications

Neomycin is indicated for:

Injuries, burns

Population group: only children (1 year - 12 years old) , adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

at least one of

Burn

and additionally Neomycin susceptible species

Apply to the affected area 2 to 5 times a day

Hepatic encephalopathy

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Neomycin is indicated for the treatment of impending hepatic coma, including portal systemic encephalopathy.

4-12 g in 4 divided doses daily

Pre-operative sterilisation of the bowel

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Neomycin is indicated for pre-operative sterilisation of the bowel.

6-10 g in 6 divided doses daily

Ear infections

Population group: only children (1 year - 12 years old) , adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

Ear infection and additionally Neomycin susceptible species

3 spreads in 3 divided doses daily

12-16 drops in 4 divided doses daily

Pre-operative sterilisation of the bowel

Population group: only adolescents (12 years - 18 years old)

Neomycin is indicated for pre-operative sterilisation of the bowel.

Contraindications

Neomycin is contraindicated in the following cases:
