Pravastatin and Fenofibrate

Therapeutic indications

Pravastatin and Fenofibrate is indicated for:

Mixed hyperlipidaemia in patients at high cardiovascular risk

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Pravastatin/fenofibrate combination is indicated as an adjunct to diet and other non-pharmacological treatment (e.g. exercise, weight reduction) for the treatment of mixed hyperlipidaemia in adult patients at high cardiovascular risk to reduce triglycerides and increase HDL-C when LDL-C levels are adequately controlled while on a treatment with pravastatin 40 mg monotherapy.

Contraindications

Pravastatin and Fenofibrate is contraindicated in the following cases:

Pregnancy

Pregnancy

Lactation

Moderate renal impairment, severe renal impairment

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)

Moderate hepatic impairment, severe hepatic impairment

Hepatic failure stage III
Hepatic failure stage IV

Known photo allergy or photo toxic reaction during treatment with fibrates or ketoprofen

Drug-induced photosensitivity and additionally at least one of
Fibrates
Ketoprofen

History of myopathy and/or rhabdomyolysis with statins and/or fibrates, creatine phosphokinase elevation after statin treatment

at least one of
Rhabdomyolysis due to statin
Increased creatine kinase level
