Urea ¹³C is indicated for:

Diagnosis of gastroduodenal Helicobacter pylori infection

Population group: only adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

13C-urea may be used for in vivo diagnosis of gastroduodenal Helicobacter pylori infection in:

  • adults,
  • adolescents, who are likely to have peptic ulcer disease.

Contraindications

Urea ¹³C is contraindicated in the following cases:

Gastric infection, atrophic gastritis

Infection of gastrointestinal tract
