Therapeutic indications

Zolmitriptan is indicated for:

Treatment of migraine headache with or without aura

Population group: only adults (18 - 65 years old)

Zolmitriptan is contraindicated in the following cases:

Moderate or severe hypertension, mild uncontrolled hypertension

Hypertension

Ischaemic heart disease, coronary vasospasm, peripheral vascular disease

Peripheral vascular disease

History of cerebrovascular accident, history of transient ischaemic attack

H/O: CVA
History of transient ischemic attack

Creatinine clearance of less than 15 ml/min

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome, arrhythmias associated with other cardiac accessory conduction pathways

Accelerated atrioventricular conduction
