Therapeutic indications

Mesalazine is indicated for:

Mild to moderate active ulcerative colitis

Population group: only children (1 year - 12 years old) , adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

For the induction of clinical and endoscopic remission in patients with mild to moderate, active ulcerative colitis.

For maintenance of remission.

Crohn's disease

Population group: only children (1 year - 12 years old) , adolescents (12 years - 18 years old) , adults (18 years old or older)

For the maintenance of surgically-induced remission of Crohn’s Disease.

Contraindications

Mesalazine is contraindicated in the following cases:

Severe hepatic impairment

Hepatic failure stage IV

Severe renal impairment (GFR <30ml/min/1.73m²)

at least one of

Renal failure stage 5: Kidney failure (GFR <15 mL/min/1.73 m2 or dialysis)
