Therapeutic indications

Tapentadol is indicated for:

Moderate to severe acute pain

Population group: only adults (18 years old or older)

Tapentadol is indicated for the relief of moderate to severe acute pain in adults, which can be adequately managed only with opioid analgesics.

200-700 mg in 4-6 divided doses daily

Contraindications

Tapentadol is contraindicated in the following cases:

Acute intoxication with alcohol, hypnotics, centrally acting analgesics, psychotropic active substances

at least one of

Alcohol intoxication
Anxiolytic intoxication
Cocaine intoxication
Hypnotic intoxication
Opioid intoxication delirium
Synthetic cannabinoid intoxication

Paralytic ileus

Acute or severe bronchial asthma, hypercapnia

at least one of

Severe asthma
Exacerbation of asthma
Hypercapnia

Respiratory depression

Decreased respiratory function
